Weekender Vibes

Got some stuff done today, on a Saturday. Still been a shitty week. Weekend's here at least. Bombed the Data Structures and Algorithms midterm exam - but so did 75%-80% of the class apparently. I don't fuckin' know, we'll see what happens. This is the professor that offered me an opportunity to work as a research assistant with her too. She's a tough cookie though, and not a great teacher - just really into her research, that's prolly why she's @ the uni. Fuckin' bombed the midterm for annother class as well, basically. Developing a crush on an e-girl who lives 2 hours away from me... What the fuck is my life right now, Goddamn??

Bauhaus Spring

Little past midnight now. Fading fast. Spent an absurd amount of time studying today, cramming for Data Structures and Algorithms class. Been coming out of a deep funk lately. Girlfriend of close to four years broke up with me, seemingly out of the blue. Her name was [REDACTED], and I loved her a lot. It was hard to accept at first; it basically put me out of commission for a week. But it's been almost a month now. I'm powering through. Self-loathing and isolation doesn't help pass exams. I guess it's all I can do to just stay busy, keep the mind occupied.

Star Trek: The Next Generation

Season 4, Episode 4 - "Suddenly Human"
★★★★☆
While maybe not one of the best Next Generation episodes, this one has always been a personal favorite. It has a lot of charm, and raises a lot of interesting ethical and philosophical questions about who we are, as individuals, and what defines our meaning, our roots, and where we come from. The plot centers around a human youth that the crew of the Enterprise discover had been forcibly kidnapped and adopted as an infant over a decade ago during border skirmishes with the Talarians; a minor, sovereign power within the Alpha Quadrant. The youth has no recollection of his life as an infant among humans, and only desires to be returned to the Talarian homeworld, to his father and "captain", a Talarian by the name of Endar. Solid 4/5 stars. Definitely worth a watch, one of the best Next Generation episodes, in my eyes at least.
